Understanding the Numbers

Estimate your repayments and buying costs, compare loans, see what extra repayments could do, and work out what your budget leaves for a deposit.

These are a starting point for a conversation, not the final answer. The numbers that matter are the ones worked out around your situation.

Loan Repayments

What a loan costs per week, fortnight or month — and the total interest over its life.

Repayment frequency

Assumptions

  • Interest is compounded at the repayment frequency. Lenders generally accrue daily and debit monthly, so a lender’s schedule may differ slightly.
  • The rate is assumed constant for the whole term.
  • Fees, charges, offset accounts and redraw are not included.
  • Principal and interest: the loan is fully repaid over the term.

Important information

These calculations are estimates only and are based on the information you enter and the assumptions shown with each calculator. They are not a quote, an offer of credit, or credit advice, and they do not take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. Actual figures, rates and eligibility depend on lender policy and a formal assessment of your circumstances.
